Read-a-thon results!

Last week, I grumbled about not having Internet, which led to me deciding that over the weekend, I would have myself a little reading marathon since there wouldn’t be much else I could do for entertainment.

I promised I would share my results, so here they are.

I have to admit, I was hesitant to even update you guys because, while it felt like I read a lot, my final numbers don’t seem all that impressive.

I started off my weekend with a trip to the library, where I picked up These is My Words and the movie adaptation of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (which I was not a huge fan of, though I did love Oprah’s performance).

I’d heard rave reviews about These is My Words, but wasn’t really into it at first. I did start really enjoying it after the first 30 or 40 pages, and ended up reading about 75 pages over the weekend.

The bulk of my reading was actually listening to books because I was trying to finish knitting a scarf that I’ve been working on so that I could actually wear it while it’s still cold out.

I had started listening to The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah on Thursday, and was 1:51:44 into it at the start of the weekend. Now I’m at 10:26:35, so I listened to almost 9 hours. And yet I’m still not done with my scarf, grumble grumble.

So in total about 9 hours of audiobooks and 75 pages of reading. I didn’t finish any books, and I’m sure others have much more impressive statistics from read-a-thons, but I really did feel like I was constantly reading. I did play board games on Saturday night and went to see They Shall Not Grow Old yesterday, so I wasn’t reading constantly, but it still felt like I spent more time than usual reading.

And as of this morning, we have Internet! Woo!

What did you all read this weekend?
