Guys, April 26th will be the death of me.
First off, Avengers Endgame comes out that day. I’m lucky to be seeing it the night before it comes out. In DOLBY!! Our theater is kind of crappy, but they recently renovated ones of the theaters to be a Dolby theater, and this is the first movie I’ll be seeing in that format so excited. We were originally not going to see it until Monday because that was the first IMAX showing available, but a couple of days ago I checked showtimes and saw that Dolby was now an option for Thursday night. I don’t even know why I did this. There’s only one IMAX theater so it’s not like they could add more showings like they do for regular showing. But regardless, I’m even more hyped for the movie knowing I get to see it in a new theater.
Also this movie is going to be so LONG. I will probably regret seeing a three hour movie at 10 pm on a work night when I have to wake up the next morning.
So yeah, I know I’m not in unique in being excited for Avengers. But there are two other exciting things coming out on Friday.
Number two is new music (presumably) from Taylor Swift. She’s been posting hints about something dropping on 4/26 for the past few weeks. Whether it’s a single, a whole album, a music video, I have no idea. But whatever it is, I’m excited. Plus it’s fun to come up with theories with other Swifties, like this crazy one about her song “The Story of Us.”
I wasn’t super into her last album when it came out (I love it now). I think it was just because it was much darker than her previous albums, and leaned more heavily into pop music, whereas I tend to prefer her acoustic stuff. After listening to it multiple times I’ve realized how great it is, but it’s clear she wrote it in a dark time in her life. Based on things she’s said, like her Elle article on 30 things she’s learned before turning 30, and the clues she’s been dropping, I think whatever she’s putting out next is going to be back to the happier Taylor. Whatever it is, I’m here for it!
And as if those things aren’t enough to be excited about, the singer/guitarist from my favorite band, Muse, wrote a song for Game of Thrones called “Pray” and that’s also being released on the 26th.
I’m the type of person that will get hyped up about things for MONTHS before they happen, so to have three things that I’m very excited for all being released the same day is a bit much.
If you’re excited about any of these things, let me know so we can get excited together. Especially for those second two things because I don’t know anyone in real life excited for them!
